Colonel Sanders’ nephew has revealed what he claims are the 11 “secret herbs and spices” that make the iconic KFC Original Chicken taste, meaning you may be able to have your KFC munchies without driving all the fucken way to an actual KFC.
Said nephew, Joe Ledington, says he found a note with the ingredients in an old scrapbook owned by the Colonel’s second wife Claudia Sanders, in a story that was broken by The Chigaco Tribune this weekend, and widely reported by the media.
Ledington told reporter Jay Jones that the note was Claudia Sanders’ last will and testament. She died in 1996 aged 94, so sadly can’t confirm the note’s authenticity.
The official Original Recipe ingredients are so secret that they’re renownedly locked away in a vault in the legal department of KFC’s head office.
You can read Jay Jones’ investigative report here, and find the alleged ingredients, and the Tribune’s instructions for cooking them, below (dw we were never gonna leave you hanging).
