US weed company American Green has just bought the entire town of Nipton in California for $5m (USD).
Their plan is to make the town into a cannabis friendly municipality, which sounds frickin awesome. Alongside a cannabis friendly culture, the company plans to invest in tourism and ecological sustainability in order to revitalise the old mining town.
“We are excited to lead the charge for a true green rush,” American Green’s president David Gwyther said in a statement to Time.
“The cannabis revolution that’s going on here in the US has the power to completely revitalise communities in the same way gold did during the 19th Century.”
