Australia’s token racist throws weight behind medical cannabis, lobbies PM

Pls explain?

Pauline Hanson – Australia’s own reminder that a) lots of racists still exist, and b) the ’90s are apparently still relevant – has joined the cannabis debate, calling on the Prime Minister to grant amnesty to suppliers of medical cannabis in Queensland.

“Last year Queensland passed a bill to legalise the use of medical cannabis but as of yet there are no licenced suppliers,” she wrote on Facebook.

“Is it fair to say that medical cannabis has been declared legal because it is an effective medicine and then deny desperate families that medicine?

“I’m sorry but that fails the common sense test.”

While Hanson is of course simply voicing concerns coming out of her electorate, it is difficult to take her stance on cannabis too seriously after she was caught out plagiarising the medical cannabis policy (among others) on her One Nation website last july.
