Police have accused a 37-year-old man from Bomaderry, NSW of eating weed that they say was hidden up his bum, in an attempt to avoid getting done.
Hamish Macintyre-Cathles appeared at Nowra Local Court this week, charged with drug supply, reports local paper the Illawarra Mercury.
Police allege that after finding methadone in Macintyre-Cathles’ car in May this year, they saw something “plastic” up his rectum – he’d initially refused a cavity search during the strip search – and took him to the Nowra cop shop for further examination.
Nothing was found in the second examination, but police say Macintyre-Cathles admitted he’d eaten the evidence – a small amount of cannabis.
Macintyre-Cathles did not enter a plea to the dealing charges, but did plead guilty to unrelated charges of possessing a knife in public. He faces the court again in December.
