Obama grants clemency to over 300 drug offenders on last day as POTUS

On his final day in office (by the way, the Trump inauguration concert was literally just the real-life Idiocracy), Obama has commuted the sentences of 330 non-violent drug offenders.

“By restoring proportionality to unnecessarily long drug sentences, this administration has made a lasting impact on our criminal justice system,” said Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates in a statement.

The move means that Obama has commuted a total of 1,715 sentences.
