Cops targeting weed grows with drones

The “firearms and cannabis team”, as they’re known, consists of trained ex-military serviceen who are trained to “live in the scrub in danger for days”

Queensland police are using drones to hunt bush grows in an unprecedented move against a market that’s on the cusp of legalisation.

Seven News reports the first drone bust resulted in “$4.5m” worth of the good stuff getting uprooted (though don’t forget the media regularly equivocates the price of dope to being a flat $20/g for the sake of their sensationalist bullshit).

Unfortunately, the exclusive “report” provided little more information than that – the remaining minute-and-a-half odd instead glorifying the camo-clad “secret, highly-skilled team of police” carrying machine guns and being wary of “booby traps”.

Where Aussie dealers/growers got their reputation as Vietcong or Narcos-style gangsters is beyond the Dopamine team. Thankfully, the “firearms and cannabis team”, as they’re known, consists of trained ex-military servicemen who are trained to “live in the scrub in danger for days”.

Cheers Erin Edwards & Seven News, you’ll go far.
