Preparations begin for Australia’s first cannabis clinical trial

Yeah, science

ASX-listed company Medlab Clinical Limited has announced that it’s preparing to kick off Australia’s first cannabis clinical trial, reports Finance News Network.

The trial – which still needs to be approved by the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney where it will take place – will be for cancer patients suffering from unmanageable pain.

Medlab first received government approval for the trials in July this year. The company, which has a laboratory in Sydney, reckons it will research cannabis for therapeutic needs, as well as developing alternative methods of delivering the drug.

Here’s hoping we get some good insights from the trial.
