Bob Dylan wins Nobel Prize for Literature, still can’t string a sentence together

The times, they are a-changin’

Everyone’s favourite has-been (who has been a has-been for about 30 years now) Bob Dylan has been awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, despite the fact that he can’t actually string a sentence together.

But we digress, the 75-year-old won the award for “having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition”, something he definitely fucking did since his breakthrough sophomore album The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan in 1963.

Since it’s the first time a songwriter has one the prestigious prize, and of course, since people love yelling their two cents about things, a bunch of people are heaps cranky about it – like Pitchfork editor Matthew Schnipper or this rando Canberra University academic (why do culture “academics” exist?) – while a bunch of other people are stoked about it – like CNN’s Jay Parini and New York Times’ Jon Pareles.

Frankly, we think the man deserves a prize for simply continuing to play music in his state.

We would usually chuck a Bob Dylan song here, but instead, here’s another relevant song about a guy called Bob.
